I am particularly interested in knowing how researchers are using digitized historic newspapers and what efforts are underway at different institutions to make historic newspapers available online.

I have an assignment in my “New South and Civil Rights Course” that asks students to compare the ways that one civil rights event was portrayed in the mainstream media vs. the way it was portrayed in the African American press.
Last semester students in a community studies class used the digitized local paper to research particular addresses.
